“Everyone can learn if we figure out how to teach them.”

Welcome to the BORO Program!

Nestled in the heart of historic downtown Westborough, The Bridging Over to Right Opportunities (BORO) Program is more than just an adult transition program—it is an innovative, community-driven initiative dedicated to empowering young adults aged 18-22 with disabilities to achieve their fullest potential.

At The BORO, we embrace the concept of individualized educational planning within a reciprocal community setting. Our mission is to teach and nurture transition-related skills that pave the path to a successful journey into adulthood. From adult daily living to functional academics and vocational skill development, every facet of our program is deliberately crafted to cultivate the unique talents and abilities of each student, ensuring their continued active participation in their home community.

In alignment with our vision, our pioneering onsite vocational “learning lab”, the BORO Sugar Shack candy store, serves as a dynamic entrepreneurial venture where fundamental, transferable work skills are cultivated in an authentic business environment, and the profound impact and value of inclusion is exhibited.  Our aspiration to originate and deliver innovative transition programming extends beyond our district's boundaries; we strive to inspire other school districts and communities across Massachusetts and beyond to follow suit.

As you explore all that The BORO Program encompasses, I invite you to join us on this journey of empowerment, inclusion, and opportunity. Together, let's bridge over to right opportunities and cultivate a future brimming with endless possibilities for every student.

Be Sweet… Give Sweets… Impact Lives!
